[S4E5] Forwards Backwards

While a few things changed up, so much of this fifth episode felt like retrod plots. Where are things going with Thomas and Baxter? He's attempting to use her, but he's getting almost no workable info. Plus, her hostility towards him is reminiscent of his feud with O'Brien, and that puts his character on such a backwards path. Thomas is one of the most interesting characters on the show, and has transformed more than most. Lately though, he seems right back in the swing of Season One, which is a waste.

The same feeling of round and round the mulberry bush was also true in Isobel and Violet's story. They constantly are at each other, despite a deep-seated mutual admiration. At least next week it seems that Isobel will have to care for Violet in Violet's weakened state. Still, all of these moments feel like wasted opportunities to introduce new plots. There's been some attempt with Jimmy and Ivy, but again, we don't know Ivy at all. Jimmy's behavior also seems out of character and, like Thomas, he seems to be going backwards in his development rather than forwards (and are he and Thomas really not speaking at all anymore? I thought they had patched things up and were allied after last year's Christmas Special?)

Bob Sassone of AOL's TV Squad noted that he liked how Jack and Liz interacted throughout the episode, and enjoyed their meeting at the Rockefeller Center at the end.[30] The A.V. Club's Nathan Rabin was complimentary towards "The Problem Solvers", reporting it was better than the past four episodes, and writing it had "alternating currents of competition and collaboration, hostility and affection and love and hate" that, according to Rabin, define Jack and Liz's relationship. Rabin gave the episode a B grade rating.[34] Entertainment Weekly contributor Margaret Lyons deemed this 30 Rock episode as the best work from Jack McBrayer's Kenneth. "If there's been a better episode for Kenneth in 30 Rock history, I'd love to know: From the backwards-talking to the bizarre fury, this was Jack McBrayer's finest (half) hour."[35] Nick Catucci of New York magazine wrote that this was a "fine" episode "with Jenna and Tracy in classic dopey-duo form and a couple of great fantasy bits ... But the Jack, Liz, and Jenna triangle felt like the funniest-ever Three's Company episode squeezed into a couple of minutes."[36] Meredith Blake, a contributor for the Los Angeles Times, said that she was looking forward to Lakshmi's cameo, but after the airing, "her scene fell a little flat." In regards to the episode, itself, Blake said it was "a solid if not mind-blowing episode, even with the presence of [Lakshmi]."[23]

was waiting on his desk when he got home and that the thief must have had a change of heart. On the farm, Clark is visited one last time by Bart, who thanks Clark for looking out for him. He says he's going to explore the world, and invites Clark to come. Clark asks him to stay, and Bart slyly says he'd consider it... if Clark can catch him. The two superspeed down the roads of Smallville, and Clark is catching up . . . When Bart turns around and starts outdistancing him running backwards. He salutes before turning forward again and disappearing in a flash of red and yellow lightning.

Time Travel is the act of moving forwards or backwards against the natural flow of time. Rick had made some breakthroughs in this science, as he had a box labeled "Time travel stuff" on the shelf in his makeshift laboratory/garage.

Wolverine snarled, as Guts brought his sword around and went to slice Wolverine's head off as well. Wolverine ducked, stabbing Guts in the stomach and forcing him backwards. Guts sheathed Dragonslayer, getting out his throwing knives and throwing them at Wolverine, all of them hitting. A bomb was then sent out, blowing up Logan. Guts smiled, and went to walk off. 041b061a72
